Cardin remotes (S449, S486 series…) are registered in the memory of your gate motorisation's receiver. There are two methods: via the receiver, or remotely from an already active remote.
Method 1: via the receiver button
- Open the control-box cover and locate the receiver's MEMO (or P1) button.
- Press it: the LED lights up, the receiver awaits a code.
- Press the chosen button on the remote; the LED flashes then goes out: the code is stored.
Method 2: remote duplication
On most recent generations, press both buttons of the already-registered remote simultaneously near the gate until it flashes, then press the new remote's button. Handy when the control box is hard to reach.
Full memory or lost remote
Receivers store a limited number of codes. If a remote is lost or stolen, do not simply add another: erase the whole memory (long press on MEMO until the LED goes out) then re-register only the transmitters in your possession. It is the only way to lock out the missing remote.
