Awning

Our services

A well-chosen awning transforms a terrace: up to 10°C cooler under the fabric, a summer lounge sheltered from UV, and a shopfront that catches the eye. Provided you get the right model — open, semi-cassette or full cassette — the right fabric and a fixing suited to your façade. Our teams install to measure, repair (arms, motors, fabrics, brackets) and maintain awnings of every brand, for homeowners as well as the cafés, hotels and restaurants of Île-de-France.

Made-to-measure installation

Open, semi-cassette or full-cassette awnings, from 2 to 12 m, fitted on concrete, brick, stone or externally insulated façades.

Motorisation & automation

Wired, radio or solar motors, wind-sun sensors that retract the awning automatically in gusts.

All-fault repair

Sagging arm, broken spring, silent motor, awning stuck open: fast repair, all brands.

Fabric replacement

Re-covering your existing frame: anti-UV acrylic fabrics, more than 100 colours, customisable valance.

Balconies & buildings

Installation compliant with building rules, harmonised colours and fixings suited to apartment balconies.

Maintenance & winterising

Fabric cleaning, arm greasing, bracket checks and winterising advice for a 15 to 20-year lifespan.

Open, semi-cassette or full cassette: which awning should you choose?

The awning type determines its lifespan as much as its price:

  • The open awning: a frame carried on a square bar, no cassette. Simple and economical (from €900 fitted), it suits sheltered terraces — loggias, covered balconies — because the rolled fabric stays exposed to the weather.
  • The semi-cassette: the fabric rolls into a protective hood, the arms remain visible. The best compromise for most Paris-region façades (from €1,300).
  • The full cassette: fabric and arms completely enclosed in an aluminium box once retracted. Maximum protection against rain, pollution and frost, modern looks, the longest lifespan — 15 to 20 years with maintenance (from €1,800).

On an exposed façade or upper floor, the full cassette is almost always the right call: the fabric is the most expensive component to replace, so it pays to protect it.

The fabric: where everything is decided

A good frame with a mediocre fabric is still a bad awning. We fit exclusively mass-dyed acrylic fabrics: the colour runs through the fibre rather than being printed on the surface, guaranteeing 10+ years of UV and weather resistance. More than 100 colours and patterns are available, from contemporary plains to the classic stripes of Paris terraces, with a straight or scalloped valance, fixed or roll-down — and your establishment's name can be printed for shops.

Re-covering (replacing the fabric alone on your existing frame, from €350) gives ten more years of life to an awning whose mechanics are sound: it is the best value-for-money job in the whole awning family.

Motorisation, sensors and control: the awning that thinks for you

Beyond 4 metres, motorisation is no longer a comfort but a necessity: it extends the arms' life by guaranteeing even rolling. Wired, radio or solar motors depending on the configuration, remote or smartphone control, and above all the automations that protect your investment:

  • Wind sensor: retracts the awning automatically as soon as gusts threaten — essential, as wind is the number-one cause of broken arms.
  • Sun sensor: extends the awning when the sun beats down, keeping your interior cool even when you are out.
  • Anti-overload system: the motor stops if an obstacle blocks the front bar.

We also motorise existing manual awnings (from €300): the winch is replaced by a motor inside the roller tube, without changing the fabric or the arms.

Awning repair: the faults we handle

An awning lives outdoors all year round: its faults are predictable and almost always repairable.

  • Sagging arm or slack fabric: tired arm springs or broken internal cables — replacement of the spring, cable or complete arm.
  • Awning stuck open: the classic emergency before a storm — release, safe manual retraction, then winch or motor repair.
  • Silent motor: capacitor, limit switch or radio receiver — diagnosis and like-for-like (or better) replacement.
  • Torn or mildewed fabric: re-covering on the existing frame, reinforcement stitching, or replacing the valance alone.
  • Working-loose fixings: re-anchoring — deal with it immediately, as a 6 m awning exerts considerable leverage on the façade.

We respond across the 8 departments of Île-de-France, usually within 48 hours, same-day for an awning stuck open.

Café and restaurant terraces: your awning is your signage

For a business, the awning works double shifts: it shelters the terrace — meaning extra covers for much of the year — and it carries your colours better than any sign. We build shopfront awnings with a branded valance bearing your establishment's name, in your identity's colours, and we coordinate awning, metal shutter and façade lighting for a coherent frontage.

In Paris, installing a street-facing awning requires planning permission, and some protected areas impose shapes and colours: we prepare the file with you. Professional maintenance (fabric cleaning, greasing, fixing checks) is scheduled at closing time or before opening, without disturbing service.

Frequently asked questions

What does a fitted awning cost?

Expect from €900 for an open model, €1,300 for a semi-cassette and €1,800 for a full cassette, fitting included, at common sizes. Motorisation and sensors are added to suit your choices. The precise quote, free of charge, is done on site with measurements and fabric samples.

Can just the fabric of my awning be replaced?

Yes, if the frame is sound: re-covering starts at €350 and gives the awning ten more years of life. We check arms, springs and fixings at the same time — there is no point re-covering an awning whose mechanics are at the end of the road.

My awning is stuck open and rain is coming: can you come quickly?

Yes, that is our typical emergency: an awning extended in a storm risks broken arms and torn fabric. We retract it safely by hand the same day, then repair the cause (winch, motor, limit switch).

Do I need permission to install an awning?

In a co-owned building, the managing agent's or assembly's approval is usually required (colour and model often imposed). Street-facing, prior planning notification is needed in Paris and many towns. We prepare these steps with you.

Is the wind sensor really useful?

It is the most cost-effective accessory: wind is the number-one cause of breakage (bent arms, torn-out anchors), and a gust-damaged awning is not always covered by insurance if it was left out in high wind. The sensor retracts it automatically, even when you are away.

Do you motorise existing manual awnings?

Yes, in most cases: a motor takes the winch's place inside the roller tube, without changing the fabric or arms, from €300. A remote, sensors and smartphone control can be added.

How long does an awning last?

15 to 20 years for the frame with regular maintenance (fabric cleaning, joint greasing, fixing checks). The fabric is generally replaced once in the awning's life — hence the value of a cassette that protects it.

Do you install on externally insulated façades?

Yes, using special fixings that pass through the insulation to anchor in the load-bearing wall without creating a thermal bridge or crushing the insulation. It is an often-neglected technical point behind many torn-off awnings.

Do you cover all of Île-de-France?

Yes, across all 8 departments: Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d'Oise. Pick your department below to see every town we serve.
