The door does not respond at all

Check the circuit breaker and the motor's power supply
Change the remote's battery and test the wall button if there is one
Make sure the manual release has not been left engaged

The door strains, squeaks or stops mid-travel

Dirty rails, a slack spring or worn rollers increase the effort demanded of the motor, which then goes into protection mode. Clean the rails, but leave spring adjustment to a professional: under tension, they can cause serious injuries.

The remote's range has shrunk

Reduced range points to a weak battery or a displaced receiver aerial. If the door only reacts from a few centimetres away, the radio receiver is probably at fault.
